Live guitar accompaniment to familiar and our own catchy, original songs is often the little ones very first exposure to a real instrument.  The benefits are enormous because it can provide a really good, strong rhythm as well as melody.

Very simple nursery themes together with big, bold posters, simple picture books and a vast array of stimulating props and puppets form the framework for our well written, tried and tested formula to provide a fantastic jam-packed musical half hour!   With gentle encouragement from the teacher and parent / carers the babies and toddlers grow in confidence - pointing, clapping, waving and jigging to the songs . . . and with lots of smiles.

3 and a half years

As children near the "terrific twos" there is a huge development, musically and vocally.

Invaluably, playing the guitar to accompany the songs means that we have great flexibility to adapt to the children's needs, for example any impromptu requests, or need for more jumping!

The emphasis is to encourage lively, energetic participation with lots of praise for singing even one word of "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep." Actions develop, stories involve more chat and active interaction as confidence takes a leap.

2 and a half to 4 year olds

These classes are ideal for those children ready to concentrate more, as we explore rhythm patterns and encourage counting through number songs and rhymes.

Language and vocabulary develop both through singing and lots of lively discourse between teacher and children about the themes, puppets and stories.

By the time the children leave for nursery school they will have an amazing musical foundation using many elements of the national curriculum (key stage one).  It's also a fantastic base for any future musical experiences or simply enjoying our fascinating, enriching musical world.
